Curtain Call is an intriguing and compelling murder-mystery that centers on the murder investigation of Cassie Sterling, a talented and beautiful local actress who is shot on stage by a fellow actor during a live performance.
Detective Michael Levins, a no-nonsense career detective on the cusp of promotion, believes it to be an open and shut case.
His assigned case partner is Page Williams, the genius new guy on the force who has a unique ability to visualize the situations that suspects describe. Page witnessed the murder and believes the case to be not so simple.
With City Hall and their Captain putting the pressure on for a quick arrest, Levins and Page clash in both technique and personality. Levins, the slow and methodical fact man, believes the murderer to be Patrick Felton, the handsome actor who pulled the trigger on stage, while Page, the free-thinking, instinct-based investigator, believes Patrick was set up and brings in several suspects to find out the truth.
Curtain Call is a contemporary mystery that explores both the world of the stage, with its love affairs, drama, and high competition, as well as the world of the detectives, which has its own share of politics, lies, and dirty dealing. It will be presented on the Internet in 17 weekly episodes of about 10 minutes each.
Curtain Call follows the two detectives as they uncover the hidden truth about that night on stage from the engaging, colorful suspects involved. It asks the question "can we ever know the whole truth?" and demonstrates that everyone, even those on the side of the law, has secrets.
Written and Directed by Michael Stromenger (ONE IN NINE, CUT, MATRYOSHKA) and produced by Kak Lee, the series will begin production Summer of 2010.
